Okpara, Premier of Eastern Nigeria, who is currently visiting business and government leaders in the United States to stimulate investment interest in the industrialization and agricultural diversification of his region. One of Tropical Africa's brightest and youngest leaders, Dr. Okpara is helping to spearhead the drive to increase productivity and standard of living in his country-the largest in Africa--through massive economic development programs. As he began a tour of United States farm and industrial centers, President Okpara said:" We solicit, without apology, the help of the new world. We welcome American investment and technical assistance and pledge our wholehearted support in these efforts.
