The columns in this volume are labeled as follows: Admitted, Name, Age, Where From Born, Complaints, Discharge, Died and Remarks. Complaints include pregnancy, found in street and being lame. Under remarks, many reasons are noted, including "eloped," "sent to asylum" and "on trial." Contained in this ledger are notations regarding the race of a person. For people who were documented as Black, sometimes only their first name was noted, probably indicating they were enslaved. In some instances, the name of the enslaver is also recorded. Arrangement is chronological and alphabetical.
