Maritime vital records
This scrapbook documents births, deaths, and marriages at sea from 1901-1948. Included are letters and documents from ship captains, shipping companies, consulates, and other government agencies, certifying events of births, marriages, and deaths.
Births: last name [of family], child’s name, father’s name, mother’s name, date of birth, report date, name of vessel, origin, destination, number of pages [of documents], and remarks.
Deaths: Last name, first name, date of death, report date, name of vessel, origin, destination, number of pages [of documents], and remarks.
Marriages: groom’s last name, groom’s first name, brides last name [before marriage], bride’s first name, date of marriage, name of vessel, origin, destination, number of pages [of documents], and remarks.
